WORLD OF TRIBULATIONS: Devotion for Tuesday September 22, 2015

WORLD OF TRIBULATIONS    Tuesday September 22, 2015

Text: John 16:33b           Memory verse: v 33b

Jesus summarized all He had told His disciples that night, tying together themes from 14:27 – 29; 16:1 – 4, 9 – 11. With these words He told them to take courage. In spite of the inevitable struggles they would face, they would not be alone. Jesus does not abandon us to our struggles either. If we remember that the ultimate victory has already been won, we can claim the peace of Christ in the most troublesome times.

Our world is world of tribulations especially against our faith. We face persecution from different angles. However, these should not discourage us. We should look up to Jesus for strength. We shouldn’t expect to be loved by the world. They didn’t love Jesus so they won’t love us.

Food for Thought: Romans 8:37 – Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

Prayer: Lord, I depend on you. Make me victorious over all tribulations of life
