Don’t Give Up Until It Is Over

MY DAILY COVENANT WITH GOD DEVOTIONAL
Devotion for Wednesday March 1, 2017
Topic: Don’t Give Up Until It Is Over
Text: Job 14:14
I watched a penalty shoot-out between two football teams. The last player in team B, came kicked the ball and it hit at the cross bar, went up and fell inside the 18 yards box. The boy who played the penalty held his head mourning. The goalkeeper of the team A left the post; ran to his teammates and they were rejoicing. The referee kept calm watching the ball as it was bouncing and rolling inside and 18yards box.
After about a minute, the ball rolled into the net and the referee blew his whistle to the astonishment of both teams. The boy that played the ball had thought it was over and the keeper also thought it was over but they were all surprised because it was not over.
Job was prophetic when he said he will wait till change will come. Though he had lost all, he was still hopeful for a change. He was full of assurance that God will restore him and God did at the end (Job 42:10 – 12).
Many people have lost opportunities to mount the rostrum for recognition because they gave up at the time they would have been recognised. Some abandoned their studies because they thought they can’t make it; some their businesses, craft, calling, etc. It is not over with you. Therefore don’t give up. We have heard stories of women giving birth for the first time at over fifty years. Why give up trial and believing God for your own child? Why give up in that third attempt to secure admission into the university? As you keep on believing God in this new month, I assure you of your breakthrough in this new month. Happy New Month!
Food for Thought: Don’t give up now. You are closer to success, fulfilment and recognition. Just take the next step or make another effort.

FOR A PROCESS OF CHANGE: Devotion for Sunday February 7, 2016

FOR A PROCESS OF CHANGE      Sunday February 7, 2016

Text: Genesis 12:1 – 3      Memory verse: v 1

A process leads to change. This is true in all our lives endeavours. God has reasons for doing everything or issuing any instruction to us. This is so because He knows the future and will not want us to distort our relationship with Him again after we have repented. Our bible reading for the day has God’s call on Abram. He was instructed to leave his home, his kindred to an unknown place. The reason for this instruction was for a change in his life and faith. In 12:4, Abram did and the changes were his name from Abram (exalted father) to Abraham – father of multitude (Gen 17:5), Sera to Sarah (17:6). The promise of Canaan did come to fulfillment in time of Abraham but God use him to prepare the actualization of that promise. There was the need to move and it was not easy for him. He had many obstacles and oppositions. But God used all to bring change in his life and posterity.

Beloved, most things we pass through in life are meant to process us for change into better glory. Joseph went through slavery to become what God spoke to him at very tender age. David had to go on exile before he ascended the throne God anointed him earlier. Hannah went through a process before she got a special child; same way Zachariah and Elizabeth went. What are you going through now that seems to have taken a lot from you? It is a process of change. God wants to bring good out of you that is why He has allowed you to go through that process. Remember Job and what his end became. Yours will be more glorious in Jesus name.

Food for Thought: There is always a process to a change

Prayer: God grant that as you take me through the process of life, may it bring change that will bring me into your kingdom in Jesus name.

I DO NOT CHANGE: Devotion for Friday December 18, 2015

I DO NOT CHANGE         Friday December 18, 2015

Text: Malachi 3:1 – 6     Memory verse: v 6

Here is a prophecy about the coming of Christ and His forbearer John the Baptist who shall prepare the way before him, by calling men to repentance. The Messiah had been long called, ‘He that should come,’ and now shortly He will come. God was tired of the way the people had cynically twisted His truths and He resolved to punish those who insisted that because God was silent, He approved of their actions or at least would never punish them. He would also punish those who professed a counterfeit faith while acting sinfully (see 3:5). God affirmed that what He has resolved to do will happen because He is the God that cannot change (3:1).

Our God does not change. Whatever He utters happens as He said it. Do you take God’s word for granted or you twist His truth or think that Jesus is not coming back again? Know that God doesn’t change. Again, has God made any promise to you and it you feel time is running out on you? He doesn’t change and those promises will happen at His own time. Keep believing.

Food for Thought: God’s word is God and doesn’t change

Prayer: God let all you have said about me happen as you have said them.

TILL MY CHANGE COMES: Devotion for Saturday September 26, 2015

TILL MY CHANGE COMES                   Saturday September 26, 2015

Text: Job 14:7 – 15                               Memory verse: v 14

At times when a tree is cut down, it shoots come forth, and grow up again as a newly planted tree. However, when man is cut off by death, he is forever removed from his place in this world. The life of man may fitly be compared to the waters of a land flood, which spread far, but soon dry up. All Job's expressions here show his belief in the great doctrine of the resurrection. Therefore in all his trouble, he choose to patiently wait 'till that change comes, which will put a period to his calamities.

There is an expiry date for all problems and calamities of life. I don’t know what you are passing through now. You have to wait on God for a change. He is the one that can turn your situations around. A change will certainly come for you. Do not lose heart. God is still there on the throne.

Food for Thought: No condition is permanent on earth.

Prayer: God, change my case because this condition is not everlasting.
