EVERLASTING COVENANT

EVERLASTING COVENANT            Thursday April 9, 2015

Text: Psalm 111:1 – 10                 Memory verse: v 9

Our lives may change, our consciousness of His love may fade out; but His love is forever even as Isaiah posited it Isaiah 54:10. Treasury of David Commentary says “His divine decree has made the covenant of his grace a settled and eternal institution: redemption by blood proves that the covenant cannot be altered, for it ratifies and establishes it beyond all recall.”

God’s eternal covenant has been established and it was sealed with the blood of Jesus Christ. Our unfaithfulness and unbelief cannot change or alter it. What it means therefore is that God’s love does not count on our faithfulness in dealing with us or else who would stand before him? Do you doubt God’s love?

Like the people of Israel, we all can be thankful that the Lord had given us the land in which we live and for its resources and beauty. God has also provided redemption for us. Our release from sin and death through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ is the greatest redemption we can think of. Are you part of this eternal covenant? Don’t reject this unique offer.

Food for Thought: Isaiah 54:10

Prayer: God I thank you for my salvation. Help me to always appreciate this and never to undermine your covenant in Jesus name.
