WHY RUN?

WHY RUN? Devotion for Tuesday March 3, 2015

Text: Genesis 3:6 – 8        Memory verse: v 8

A sinner runs when no one pursues because his conscience will always condemn him. Anyone who goes against the law always, runs or panics on hearing the voice of God. Such person is never at ease and will find the company of others uncomfortable. Therefore, Christians should endeavour to free their minds from all forms of evil and sin so that they can easily associate and worship freely with others without being uncomfortable. If you are uncomfortable in the midst of fellow Christians, then look inwards for there may be something wrong in your life.

Adam and Eve were used to fellowshipping with God and usually looked forward to that special time in the presence of their Father. Unfortunately, when they sinned, they went into hiding. The joy of coming into God’s presence disappeared. They hid as if anyone can hide from the All-seeing and All-knowing God. We do the same, acting as though God doesn’t know what we’re doing. Are you running from God who created you, gave you life and preserves you? Are you hiding from Him who made you what you are? Hiding from God is humorous. Have the courage to share all you do and think with Him. This will help us to be honest with God for honesty will strengthen our relationship with Him.

Food for Thought: Are you honest? It strengthens our relationship with God

Prayer: God, forgive my sins so I can enjoy your fellowship with me always.
