Topic:
The Best Counsellor
Text:
Isaiah 28:29
The best counsel and excellent
guidance come from God. He has never counselled anyone and His counsel failed
or guided anyone and same misses the way. In Genesis 24, we have how Eliezer,
the eldest servant of Abraham (Genesis 15:2), prayed for God’s guidance and he
got it (Genesis 24:12 – 21). In Judges 20:23, the Israelis asked for God’s
counsel and He spoke on what they should do.
God is the only one that can tell what will happen in every day of our lives.
He is the only one who knows where and how we can succeed. He is the one that
is indispensable as far as our existence is concerned. With Him all things are possible.
Oftentimes, we contemplate on how
they will fare or succeed in our endeavours. Some spent weeks wondering how
they can overcome challenges and obstacles or seeking counsel from men about
them. God’s counsel and guidance is what we need at such times. Those who
relied on Him in the past where not disappointed and ours will not be
different. Those who despised Him paid dearly for it (see 1 Chronicle 10:13).
Our wisdom will lead to destruction but leaning on Him will lead to greater
success and accomplishment. The Lord will guide you continually as He assured
in Isaiah 58:11 and guide your feet unto peace (Luke 1:79). Trust God’s counsel
because His counsel is the best for us.
