HONESTY IN BUSINESS: Devotion for Sunday November 8, 2015

HONESTY IN BUSINESS     Sunday November 8, 2015

Text: Leviticus 19:30 – 37      Memory verse: v 36

“Strict honesty in trading, and in all business transactions, and the doing to others as we ought to wish others to do to us, is a duty required by God, by our own good, and the good of all,” so says Family Bible Notes. This is the truth in our text. God says to treat foreigners as you would treat fellow countrymen, to love them as you love yourself (19:33, 34). We should not be unrighteous in our dealing with our neighbours in areas of judgment and measurement.

God gave these laws so that we should bring honesty into our relationship with others and in business. I was told of how some traders in a very big market in Lagos alter voltage of electricity bulbs to make more gains. This is similar to so many business men and women. This is evil and abomination to the Lord. Some reduce the quantity in a 50 kg bag of rice to make more bags. Unfortunately, some are Christians. God is watching you. Repent now.

Action: Resolve to be honest as you go out for your business today.

Prayer: God, help me to be honest in all my dealing with people henceforth
