BLESSED IS HE THAT WATCHES Friday September 11, 2015
Text: Revelation 16:12 – 16 Memory verse: v 15
The sixth bowl judgment will dry up the Euphrates River to facilitate the crossing of the armies of the kings of the east (cf. Daniel 11:44) as they rush to involve themselves in the campaign of Armageddon. Armageddon is literally ‘the hill of Megiddo,’ referring to the hill upon which the ancient city of Megiddo was located. Megiddo was strategically situated at the foot of Mount Carmel to control travel through the Jezreel Valley.
There is an advice for us here which will help us to live well as Christians – Blessed is he who watches. Watching here involves being careful to obedience and observe all commandments and obligations before us. It also involves being awake and active on duty. How active are you for the Lord? Are you walking naked because you have carelessly allowed the enemies to steal your garment? Search yourself now.
Food for Thought: Matthew 25:13
Prayer: May I be watchful in this Christian race O Lord, and never to sleep.
