WHEN YOU SEE THESE HAPPENING Tuesday August 11, 2015
Text: Matthew 24:32 – 35 Memory verse: v 33
Jesus
used a parable to answer the disciples’ question regarding when the events He
spoke about would happen (24:3). They knew when summer would come by observing
a fig tree. The dry, brittle twigs getting tender with rising sap and the
leaves coming out were some signs that summer was near. Inherent in this
process is waiting patiently. As we can’t hurry the natural cycle of the fig
tree, so we must patiently await the Second Coming of Christ because we can’t
hurry it.
Matthew
24:33 means that the Second Coming of Jesus is both certain and near. The
fulfillment of Jesus’ prophecy would assure the disciples that the other
prophecies He had given regarding the End Times would also come true. How
prepared are you seeing the others predictions manifesting in our eyes?
Food for Thought: James 9:5
Prayer: Lord, may I not be taken unawares. Help me to prepare
for your second coming.
