his
was the prophecy of what Jesus Christ will suffer for the sake of love He has
for us. We did not put Him in our position, but He placed Himself there. Thus
He took away the sin of the world, by taking it on Himself. He made Himself
subject to death, which to us is the wages of our sin. To aggravate his
sufferings He was numbered with transgressors, condemned as a criminal, and
executed in company with two notorious criminals. He was in their midst as if He
had been the worst of the three.
In
1 John 3:1, John tells us to behold the manner of love God has bestowed on us.
This was the extent Jesus chose to suffer for us, being numbered among the
transgressors. These sacrifices and love are meant for us. Have you accepted
this love? Think about what He suffered for you and see if there is any need to
surrender your life to Him or not.

Prayer: Lord, grant me a heart of gratitude for all you have
done for me.
