MEDITATION

MEDITATION                            Sunday April 5, 2015

Text: Genesis 24:62 – 67         Memory verse: v 63

Devout meditation upon the character, works, and ways of God, communion with Him, and commitment of our interests to His care, are often followed by His special favours. Some think Isaac expected his servants about that time that was why he went to the field for the purpose of meeting them. However, it should seem he went out to take the advantage of a silent evening, and a solitary field, for mediation and prayer. This was the habit of the godly fathers to meditate on God's promises, and to pray for the accomplishment of them. How often do you make out time to meditate on God’s word and works even in this Easter season when we celebrate the death and resurrection of Christ?

As we observe the evening meditation God sometimes lets us have what in our willfulness we persist in choosing, just to teach us that our own way is not the best. Evening meditation gives opportunity for reappraisal of our walk with God for the day. Maximize it for your spiritual growth.

Food for Thought: Through meditation and by giving full attention to one thing at a time we can learn to direct our attention to God fully and benefit from His ever presence.

Prayer: Teach me O God, to always make time to be in your presence as I meditate on your love and faithfulness.
